Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the theatre, this wild and hysterical new Rockstar parody Musical by John Baldwin erupted on to the New York City Theatre scene in October 2023.
THE COPYCANTS CONCERT, is the amazing story of a “has-been” singing group, who, down on their luck, decide to revamp their performances by doing something different.
They decide to rewrite Rockstar songs to avoid copyright issues, call themselves THE COPYCANTS, and then dress up like Rock Stars, and sing their way to fame and fortune!
Developed by John Baldwin, making use of his legal experience, this Musical features brand new music which does not infringe on copyright laws, to create awesome new parody songs for imitating iconic rock stars like Madonnna, Paul McCartney, Lady Gaga, Johnny Cash, Prince, Celine Dion, Michael Jackson, Queen and more!
Come on a wild journey and experience the Origin Story of THE COPYCANTS, in THE COPYCANTS CONCERT, as they struggle with each other, their skeptical manager, a dangerous gangster who wants his money back, as they sing their way to Rockstar stardom!

"ASCENDING is a Musical drama set in the Jazz Age.
It integrates 29 hit songs from that period into a story with a resemblance to “The Great Gatsby.”
Our hero, Jack, is also established by a criminal syndicate to act as a wealthy playboy during Prohibition. His motivation to ascend to a position of wealth and fame is exceeded only by his love for the married Billie. When the Feds close down the Mob, Jack loses everything and must flee to avoid arrest. He can only hope Billie might later join him.
Most of these hundred-year-old public domain songs remain familiar to audiences due to their use in movies and TV. The original lyrics of some are adapted to best fit the narrative.
An audience will be anxious to discover:
Will Jack escape the law?
Can Jack and Billie somehow be together?
Will Jack become a better person?"
